easy peasy tags!

The A muse website is featuring "holiday tags". Here's is my lil ol' contribution. i used a mix of trees that A Muse has. a bit of glitter and buffalo snow, love that stuff! i thought hmm trees, recycling...so i ripped some paper off the lunchbag, stamped on it and voila. simple but fun:) check the other wonderful tags on A Muse.

it's shimmer time!

my photography skills do not do justice to these beautiful shimmer papers! today's the day for a muse's stationery release. i've used the mango damask shimmer paper with the paprika notecard. happy thanksgiving is new sentiment as well a the white polka dot ribbon. i also used the solid pumpkin and vine border from past releases. there is some glitter on the vine that you can't see from the pic. i decided to make the pumpkin green, i just love those funky colored funny shaped ones:) i hope you all have enjoyed seeing all of the a muse's peeks and have been inspired!! ohhh, don't forget the latte pearls here too!

what's your favorite halloween candy?

i'm not even sure what mine is, there are too many. here's a little treat holder i'm doing for my spooky treats class. it's a bit of a work in progress so the picture may change. they're fun to make and will hold all of your yummy treats:)

edited: i did switch out my first bag, i like this one better, do you ever do that?:) i used my labels one nestablities and added more bling. hope you like it!

sweet tooth?

well, maybe for a salmon:) i know a bit unconventional. i live on the edge of the universe when it comes to mail delivery and i haven't received all of my goodies to share yet. soooo...i came up with this. a muse has the new, fantastic blackberry and paprika notecards. i just love these yummy colors! i also used the new black polka dot sheer ribbon and the new BITE ME! i'll be using that one alot!!

this card reminds of my dad, he was an avid fisherman. if you ever meet me, you'll probably never believe that as a kid/teenager we camped my WHOLE summer vacation up in the okanogans. if we weren't doing that , we were fishing in the "hole" in deception pass on whidbey.
looking back i have great memories, at the time it drove me crazy! all of my friends were off doing what i thought was normal girly stuff:) a few years back, i was telling my sil about my childhood, i thought she was going to have stroke, couldn't wrap her brain around the fact that i pretty much lived like a park ranger. a childhood i think she wanted;) now, i love lipgloss and my nordy's but i can clean and bait a fish with the best of them:)

thanks for letting me share a muse and a memory!

it's the most wonderful time of the year!!

and i don't mean school starting:) it's a muse bouche time and it's...say it with me, HALLOWEEN. A Muse always does halloween the BEST! check out the pumpkin mouse and new sentiment. I used the new slate 4-bar notecard and a scrap of palm green. my bling is glitter paper from my lss. i don't know who makes it though. i also broke in the ek success bat punch. my sentiment smudged a bit but i think it kinda gives it that foggy graveyard look. at least that's what i'm telling myself;)

make sure to peruse the AMN and instructors blogs for more spooky fun!!

i love rock n' roll!!

OMG! don't you just lovvvvve our new rocker girl? i blinged her up with some doodlebug chunky glitter. she's having some head banging fun on top of the new locker. i used the star from the sports clear set and stamped the new awesomest" party like a rockstar" over it.
back in the day, my hubby says i was rocker girl, it was the 80's, for heaven's sake:) my kids just stare at me when i start rockin' out to guns n' roses or pat benatar:D
well, i'm off to water county usa in williamsburg...PRAY for me!! it's gonna be a lonnnnng day.

i can't wait for fall!

i love fall and this new sports clear stamp set, cheerleader and 2*4*6*8 sentiment, just shouts apple cider and pumpkins to me. i had to use my high school colors, purple and gold for the cheerleader. THAT was along time ago! have a great day:)

ohhh, mandy, you came and you gave without taking...

too cheesy? heehee, i am working off some vicodin from last night . plus, i'm dating myself:D
aren't these the cutest stamps from mandy's world?!! isn't she soooo sweet? now don't freak out, i used my marvy flower punch and then i crumpled the popsicle pink paper. don't be afraid to smoosh things:) we had a trip to hawaii back in april and i wanted something that looked like the HUGE hibiscus flowers we saw. it's hard to see the pineapple here, but i used my yellow spica glitter.

this is a card for a sweet birthday girl tomorrow. i like how it turned out in irl. who doesn't love mermaids! and what about the crazy sentiment! i colored some shredded paper with my copics for the seaweed and used distress stickles in antique linen for sand. love that stuff! hope you enjoy seeing everyone's sneaks. i'll put in all goodies i used a bit later.

it's a muse bouche time again!!

look at a muse's fun, new back to school release. how many sneaks do you see? there are 3 new papers and 3 new stamps on this card. give up? i used the new papaya notecard for the backpack, new blueberry for the card base and what about the fantastic school lined 8.5x11 paper?!! isn't it adorable, love it! i punched it out with the martha stewart binding edge punch. the cutie stamps are the school girl, backpack and one of the newest sentiment's.
i hope to get some more up tomorrow. i just had dental surgery today and i am holding frozen peas on my mouth as we speak:) go and have fun looking!

other elements:
palm notecard, green kitchen paper, woodgrain paper and heart twinkle sticker.

which way is up?

here is a card i'm doing for my next class. while i was taking one of jenn's a muse a palooza classes, i realized i had the snowfort upside down. DUH! but i think it looks great either way:)

cape cod fun!

i love the cape and miss it sooo much. i had so much fun at my old stomping grounds. here is a sneaky peek of one of the jenn's advent calendar tags. HOW cute is he?!! if you live anywhere near colorful creations, you must take this class!!!

my mother in law lives near northampton, ma. it's a very eclectic, cool city to people watch. they also have many fun shops to peruse. i got these little cutie's at essential's. they have a great array of japanese and french import's. the cake is a stamp the says "merci" and the little strawberry atop the cake pulls out and is strawberry stamp!! how could i resist? they're also online and check out their sister site, japanistic.com.

hey, my eye's are open! i'm famous for blinking in pics ;) the best part of my trip, love me my jenn:)

Who's been to Fork's?

well, i missed the ribbon challenge. by golly, i wasn't going to miss the TWILIGHT one! not the greatest pic, i'll most likely take another tomorrow and replace it. the sun was setting, but i was anxious to get this post up. this was alot of fun, i had that pumpkin truck in mind for awhile. i tried to grunge it up with the copic colorless blender. i also omitted the seattle from a muses "greetings from seattle" and added forks. my lettering could be better:) i KNOW bella wouldn't be wearing a dress but hey...i hope you all have a blast with this challenge.
also, my daughter, sophie is designing a new blog banner. i have no clue to what or how she is doing:D

thanks for all of your sweet comments on my"pizza" too:)

Saturday, June 20, 2009

happy pizza day!!

if my 18 year old son would have his way, it would be pizza day everyday!
i have a secret though...they're COOKIES. did i fool you? i made these for my last class. we made the super cute mini-pizza boxes and i thought hmmm....what can i put in them and tada:) lots of oohs and ahhs erupted.

they're pretty easy peasy:
slice and bake your sugar cookie dough.
spread some yummy strawberry jam on top.
sprinkle on some grated white chocolate.
cut out circles from strawberry fruit by the foot.(i used the bottom of a frosting tip, that seemed to be the right size).

your peeps will think your the most amazing, craftiest person on earth:D ENJOY!

it's hip to be square!

i know i'm dating myself with that title. here's a card for the first A*muse*a*palooza challenge. it's true there are some circles. but i love the look of planets that our square little bobble head robot boy is bouncing off of. i'm sure your into the A*muse*a*palooza fun already. don't forget to check the A Muse news blog regularly for fun contests and PRIZES. well, today is sophie's end of the year dance recital. lots to do!! see you soon.

Arrgghh Ye' Wicked? + Bonus Hippo:)

Well, we had a fantastic time at "Wicked"!! Our group was able to meet the talented performer's after the show. It was hard to believe their voices came out of those bodies. My fav was "Popular".
I'm a little pooped, but I did find some time to whip a couple of cards. On my pirate card, I used our new orange gingham paper. I sanded then antiqued it a bit. I also used my new Doodlebug chunky glitter. LOVE IT! I just had to use hippo again, i think she's sooo cute:) I can't wait to use the orange gingham for Halloween. Hey, who said that? Have a great rest of the weekend.

hippo birdie to you!!

And to me! Yep, it's my birthday today. So, i'll be fast, my daughter and I are off to see "Wicked". Wahoo!!
This card is a no brainer. You HAVE to pair the birdie and party hat with our adorable new hippo! I've got the long grass in there too. Don't forget the cute new sentiment "hippo birdie to you". And of course, the new petite green grass GINGHAM. See you tomorrow:)

we all live in .....

A Muse Bouche heaven! here's my take on our adorable sub. I'm sure i'm not the only one to think of the "Yellow Submarine" from the Beatle's. At least i hope not:) Please pardon operator issues with the picture. I really need lessons, *sigh* The new yellow gingham is much more vibrant than how it looks here. Enjoy and have a "sublime" day!!

You had me at hello!

A Muse has done it again! Our upcoming release, "Summer Fun" is a blast of fun to play with.
My heart did flip flops when i saw that we had gingham papers. It's not your mother's gingham, the colors are gorgeous and the print is so delicate. Now, don't be afraid that you'll turn country or sumpin'. You'll use it with all of our other delicious papers.
I've got to make this a quick one. SO, many A Muse bouches to plan:) Don't forget to check out the A Muse blog for fun peeks. Of course our designers and instructors blogs have fabulous peeks too.

Stamps: Palm silhouette, Warm hello, Skinny oval bl sm
Papers: Buttercup yellow 4-bar, Blue gingham, Orange crush
Twinkle stickers and Stickles distress in Antique linen (for the sand on the oval)

hey you!! wake up!!

well, i think i am finally getting over my jet lag. we went to hawaii during spring break, from the east coast. wow, what a flight to get there but definately worth the pain. it really is a spectacular place to go. i was born in honolulu but left when i was 3. so, it was quite an experience to go back there after all of these years. we did pearl harbor, which was very sobering. climbed diamond head i thought i was going to have a stroke! i don't think i have ever sweated that much in my life:D i really thought i was going to have to have someone push me up the last flight of stairs.

i was amazed at the other people hiking up in flip flops (JENN if you see this :) and wearing coats and jeans . spent a day at the polynesian cultural center, saw where "lost" is filmed on the way there. went to the dole plantation for pineapple ice cream and the pineapple maze. my fav was the north shore, truly what you picture hawaii to look like. i can't wait to go back.

well, i missed the a muse bouche due to my travel coma, but here is some dessert:) of course i had to add some island flavor, hope you like it! i used the sakura and bamboo stamps from our newly hatched line. couldn't resist my love of hula girl too! don't forget to check out the a muse website for the fun new release and leave a comment for your chance to win a great prize!! see you soon, off to teach a class tomorrow!

one tasty a muse bouche morsel

well, finally back to some blogging. i have been bloggone absent. a muse's newest release will be for all to peruse tomorrow. you will just fall in love with "love blooms". i 'm so glad to get one peeky in for you. i 'll be able to get some more posted this week.

i used our new "juliette" paper's, aren't they just the most delicious colors?!! the umbrella, ella, ella, (couldn't resist:) , is so versatile. can't you see it for a shower invite, a basic hello or a get well card?

i also used the tower and greetings from seattle stamps. although i haven't lived in the emerald city for a number of years. i will always consider the northwest my home.

peeking in the mailbox....

there's been a wee bit of a delay with the sneak peeks. all of us east coaster's have been waiting
patiently for our a muse goodies. i hope tomorrow is the day! you are all going to love the new release, beautiful colors for spring and cutie new stamps to join the rest of your collection!
in lieu of the sneak's, i 'll share some cards for my upcoming class. i had a senior moment and forgot to photograph my samples. tonya at picture to page, graciously took them for me.
my "cupcakes and caffeine" class use the the coffee break set and the cupcake set. i also used the to go cup, i love that little stamp. whoops, i'll try not play favorites, the other stamps feel left out:)

julie had made one of these gift card holders, during christmas and i loved it! so, here is my take on it. perfect for a starbuck's or dunkin' donuts card (personally my preference). i know what a traitor i am, being from the northwest and all. but, i just like dd better!
i had the hardest time trying to find kraft paper cardstock down here in the south! i finally found some at a little bitty scrapbook store in elizabeth city, nc. i hoping to do some classes there in the near future. well, i'll see you real soon. keep your fingers crossed for my crazy postlady to deliver tomorrow!

exam week

well, when wednesday comes along my 2 high schoolers will have been off from school for over a week! it was exam time this past week. they were exempt (great kids for getting good grades). then we have a four day weekend! i have enjoyed having them home, it reminded me of our winter break we used have when we lived on cape cod. it is super cold here in north carolina, as with most everywhere on the east coast. they say snow tomorrow, i doubt it though. snow here is like 1 inch and everyone freaks out.
i am totally loving the new sweet shop stamps by a muse!! they are so adorable!! i used them with my new nestabilities. i was hesitant to get these, but after trying one out with my cuttlebug, i splurged for some more. they are super easy and compatible with many die-cut machines.
here are few things i whipped up. i love the little catepillar with the apple. i also can't get enough of these treat bags!! my daughter sophie has made a million of them in different sizes, she's so funny. i met sweet tonya, the owner of picture to page in yorktown, va. and i'll be teaching a class on feb. 28th . come see me for an a muse fix, if you're in the area:)

what happens when christmas and migraines meet each other?

....NOTHING!! but first Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already the 10th. I've been joking that I should start my cards now for this December. I am finally on the upswing from my holiday whammy migraine. I was soooo behind with my card samples and I didn't even get any sneak peeks out. I felt like such a big L on my forehead.

I'm so pumped to see the A muse lounge is such a hit with everyone! It's so much fun to see all the ladies chatting away. The A muse Valentine line is so sweet and yummy, i just want to gobble it all up. And i did ;) hahaha . I just the LOVE, "The Love Shack" and all of the chocolate sentiments. I got my groove on and made a cute, fun treat bag. As my 8 year would say,"Easy peasy lemon squeezy". Plus some cards for my upcoming class, (fingers crossed for some signer uppers!!) Whoa!! the pink on the love shack looks really bright in my photo! it is much more subdued in real life.
I saw the treat bag on Geeta's, "Pretty little packages class", she was kind enough to send me the template. Jenn is also doing one in her class too, GREAT minds think alike!!:) Well, I'm off the to stamp while juices are still goin' on!! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend. Easy duzzy fuzzy wuzzy:)
