bonus card... better late than never

when i was growing up, "the snow queen", would come on once a year. remember those days!? i could hardly wait, when i saw it in the t.v. guide. oh, how i loved that cartoon. i just fell in love with the story of kai and gerda. i have tried to find it as an adult. i'm sure my memories of it would be shattered, if i were to see it today. i had so much fun last night. it showed me i could create under pressure:)

home alone

i really enjoyed making this card. it is a shout out to seattle!! i know i probably mention it too often, but i really miss the northwest!! so i was very pleased with myself on this design. i don't have a "miss you" stamp, but i thought this worked well.

scrooged

hmmm...staples. not bad, i think it could fall in with "a christmas story" theme. what do you think? i really don't use staples much and last night, i stapled my thumb in the mad rush of card making:)

polar express

i love this story!! that's it....:)

christmas story

my techie daughter is at a sleepover, so i had to figure all this out by myself. :) i did have a little help from my other knowitall child, sean. :) i'm sure even my 8 year old would know more than me. i can't believe i made all of these cards last night!! sure was fun and messy. thanks to anyone who's stops by.

counting the days till christmas break...

well, our family had a relaxing, easy thanksgiving. so mellow, that i only made two cards. not sure about the distressing on the thanksgiving card. the cupcake one was for little 4 year old chloe's birthday, a friends daughter. it's much more glittery than in the picture. i love the color combo. i think i'm still having the effects of the turkey tryptophan. i can hardly keep my eyes open. seriously, on friday i woke up, made breakfast and then at 10:00 i had to go back to bed. i slept for another 2 hours.

we have 3 weeks until the kids break, 2 full glorious weeks off!!! sleeping in, minimal homework hopefully. last year my junior had 4 projects due over the break, in ONE stinkin' class!! that didn't include the other classes. i find it so ridiculous to assign things over a break. where is the family time? we were so stressed about it that it really put a damper on the trip. i kept having to nag sean the whole time. sophie was in the ninth grade and had nothing!? can you tell i'm still a little bitter:)

we will be on the road to cape cod and western mass. for the holidays. there will be stories galore ..... well, i'm feeling a bit dozy again, ta ta. have a terrific week and keep on stamping.

the day grammy gave me the bird

well, here's my story for the week. i was leaving the parking lot of michael's. there was a line of about 4 cars, there was a break, so i attempted to make a left into the line. well car #1 with grampy in it was having none of those shenanigan's and jetted up so i couldn't get in the car line.
so, i gave him a thumbs up and mouthed "thanks, that's really nice". he starts laughing and pointing at me with much sarcasm!! now here i am blocking traffic as car#2 tries to go through the small opening in front of me. grammy looks at me and is shaking her head at me. i'm trying to back up but there is a family behind me. i look at grammy and say"i'm trying". and....she flipped me off!!!!!!! my daughter, sophie says" i can't believe she just did that! i've never seen a gramma do that". it gave me a warm fuzzy to have sophie there to share that wonderful moment with me. for crying out loud, am i in a parallel universe?

oh, sweet grammy, i'm so sorry that i ruined your day by blocking you for those 5 seconds. shame on you!!
and grumpy grampy, i'm so sorry that i broke one the senior citizen cardinal rules by trying to be young whippersnapper and go in front you. all i want to say is that the song that was running through my head was, "grandma got run over by a reindeer" hahahahaha!

so, i guess i'll be doing alot of online shopping this year. i'll post a card later. just had to vent,
it is very cathartic having a blog:)

here's peeky-poo at two of my cards for class in December. see you soon.

happy election eve

i'm waiting for my a muse order with the new cupcake and baking sets. i got a late start with the order,( pc issues). they are both so adorable and yummy. plus lowfat unlike my baking, i'm all about real butter. i sooo can't wait to get them. they are both fantastic for homemade gifts, endless possibilities. in the meantime, here's a little card i made.

i had this in mind for awhile, nice and simple. i love a muse, all of the stamps are so versatile. it's hard to believe this whole election process will culminate tomorrow. i'm just going to stamp and mute the t.v. because it's just going to be blah, blah, blah all the ding dong day! have a great night and i'll post tomorrow some cards i have planned for my very FIRST class. yikes!!

can't win a card contest...

...but i was selected to be an a muse instructor. which is a gazillion times better. i can't believe it still! i'm so excited i can't tell you! it must be fate, all the cards fell into place for me. so, here's a card i did when julie came up with this color scheme. i hand drew the jack-o-lanterns faces, quite crafty of me.:) once i get the hang of this whole bloggy thing i'll give y'all the deets. if anyone lives in the chesapeake,va, northern north carolina area, i hope you come visit me. i'll be teaching at ALL ABOUT SCRAPBOOKS. i'll let you know when i have a class schedule, hopefully in the next month or two. say hello to your mother. (anyone watch SNL?)

woohoo! with the amazing help of my techno savvy 15 year old daughter, i have my first blog picture. what do you think?, not too shabby. i made this when jennie had her weekly challenge.
on another subject, i made what i thought was going to be this scrumptious pumpkiny cake. well not so much, looking for another recipe. thanks to anyone who stopped by for a lookie loo. i'll post more tomorrow, want to save all of that blog energy.
